About

I am someone who has always enjoyed reading since I was a child.  I can still remember going to the library and checking out as many books I could and reading half of them on the way home.   College is when I started to realize how much I enjoyed creative writing. Many of my essays tuned into creative pieces (much to the dismay of my teachers). I would always focus on creative titles and themes, and pictures/logos that could one day accompany a story. It wasn’t until taking a creative writing class was I able to really express myself and feel the joy of writing. Years later and one daughter later i decided to start writing stories for.

My goal with this site is to not have children read fewer books or to replace books but a chance for them to be able to read more.

A site where children can come and read instantly and are excited to see new stories added. A place to ask their favorite character questions and see what they are up to. A site parents can go to and read to their children where ever they are.  Even if this site is able to put a smile even on one child, that’s more than I could ever have dreamed.

The Rittenhouse Mouse is a place to learn, a place to laugh, and a place to make a connection.

This site is a work in progress as I continue to add more stories and artwork and encourage your suggestions.

About the illustrator

When I started this page i was able to put up a few sketches and pictures of my own but just wasn’t able to capture the essence I wanted in bringing the stories to life. That is when I enlisted the help of Yenna.

Yenna Mariana is an illustrator based in Jakarta, she has passion in illustration and storytelling. Specialized in background painting and character design for 2D Animation and also children illustration.

She picked up a pencil at 4 years old and thus began her journey in illustration. Growing up she would doodle everywhere, especially in her schoolbook. She then went on study illustration and animation for 4 years, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in 2017.
Yenna has been in production team for animated movies and series since 2017. She has illustrated 3 children books and currently working for more. In her free time she likes to watch netflix and dog videos on instagram and do some yoga.
