Pumpkin Crumpets

It was a rainy day in the park, and many of the children were stuck inside.
Left dreaming of when the sun would come out and smile real wide.

It is days like these were Beatrice takes the opportunity to try new recipes.
And who better to test them on than Fallon and Fritz, even with their quirky pleasantries.

Her newest creation, Pumpkin Crumpets!

After giving Fallon and Fritz each a piece, Beatrice asked,

“So who taste pumpkin?”

“And who taste crumpets?”

“Who I say tastes pumpkins and crumpets?”

“We do not taste those pumpkins or crumpets,” said Fallon and Fritz.

“Nor do we taste those pumpkin crumpets.”

“We do not taste the pumpkin pie.”

“We do not taste the pumpkin fried.”

“We do not taste the pumpkin soup.”

“Nor do we taste that pumpkin goop.”

“We do not taste those pumpkins and crumpets.”

“Nor do we taste those pumpkin crumpets.”

“We do not taste the pumpkin cake.”

“We do not taste that pumpkin steak.”

“A taste that makes us want that cake.”

With an all but defeated look on her face, Beatrice asked one last time.

“Who I say tastes pumpkin and crumpets?”

“We do not taste those pumpkins or crumpets,” said Fallon and Fritz.

“Nor do we taste those pumpkin crumpets.”

“But boy, oh boy, we still taste that steak.”

“I think we’ll now go eat that cake!”

Fallon and Fritz looked at each other and could only chuckle and smile.
They each know they loved what they tasted, but being silly was more worthwhile.

After their reaction, Beatrice knew her new recipe was one of her best.
For seeing how hard Fallon and Fritz laughed was truly the test.
